Expert Lecture on “Startup to Scale: Entrepreneur Growth Program” Conducted at Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Technology

The Industry Institute Partnership Cell (IIPC), in collaboration with the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering (MME), organized an expert lecture titled “Startup to Scale: Entrepreneur Growth Program” on campus from 10:15 A.M. to 12:15 P.M. as part of its ongoing IIPC initiatives. The session was delivered by Mr. T. Munnaiah, Independent Director empaneled by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India.

The lecture witnessed active participation from students and faculty members across the institute, reflecting strong interest in entrepreneurship and startup development within the Materials Engineering domain.

Dr. G. ChandraMohan Reddy, Principal, addressed the gathering and motivated students to focus on building startups and generating employment opportunities, particularly in the field of Materials Engineering. He emphasized the importance of innovation, entrepreneurial thinking, and industry relevance in shaping future engineers.

Dr. K. Ramanajaneyulu, Head of the Department of MME, highlighted the vast scope and emerging opportunities for startups in Materials Engineering. He encouraged students to explore entrepreneurial pathways alongside their academic pursuits.

During his address, Mr. T. Munnaiah explained that an Entrepreneur Growth Program is a structured framework aimed at helping early-stage founders transform ideas into scalable and sustainable businesses. He outlined the complete startup journey, including:

  • Idea validation and identifying viable business opportunities
  • Building scalable and sustainable business models
  • Preparing startups for funding readiness and investor engagement
  • Establishing investor connections and financial strategies
  • Driving revenue growth and achieving market expansion

He emphasized that scalability, financial discipline, and strategic market positioning are essential factors that determine whether a startup survives or fails.

Dr. M. Vijaya Lakshmi, Member, IIPC, MME Department, summarized the key insights of the lecture and reinforced the importance of entrepreneurial skill development among engineering students.

The session concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Dr. P. Chandra Sekhar, Convenor, IIPC, who expressed gratitude to the speaker, management, faculty, and students for making the program successful.
